Sometimes I Wish
Sometimes I wish that
I could disappear and hide
when I'm getting teased
and feeling bad inside.
I wish we could unzipper
our looks and outer skin
and be strong on the inside,
the hidden part within.
Sometimes I wish that
I could change my face
so nobody could tease me
about gender, looks or race.
When I see a friend get teased
I wish not to be afraid
So I can go over there
and come right to his aid.
Sometimes I wish that
I were as brave as I seem
And could soar and sing out
like the me in my dreams.

I hear whispers
I hear whispers in the halls.
I see fingers pointing.
Why? Because my skin?
My race? My religion?
So I am forced to the edge.
And my heart quickens.
As I step to the ledge
And peer down
at the empty space below.
I take one final pace and I
plummet faster
And faster

CRASH.
That's when I realize,
We're all the same when
we're dead.
So why isn't it that
way in society?

Opposites
A girl or boy
A love or fear
A friend or foe
A laugh or tear
What sets one apart, defines another
Our differences often lead to suffer
To overcome all, and break the spell
We must unite and always tell
For without our variations
Crumble will our nations
And chaos shall ensue
The light and dark
The new and old
The good and bad
The quiet and bold
Diversity.

Diversity Poem
I speak truth and power
Yelling out words like
Eliminate and racism…
Acceptance and gay…
Choice and religion…
Social status…
Issues of an everyday struggle
And this is something in which
We all have a similar case
Educated blacks…Questioned
“are you considered a disgrace to your race?”
Because they don’t leave a trace of…
Slurred speech and dilated pupils?
Struggling to defend ones sensitivity and beliefs.
From ridicule and stereotypes
Thoughts swaying in the breeze
Like the rings of Saturn around big heads
Know it alls
Witnessing barrier breaking
Back drop painting
Satan praising and area arranging
Just to inject reverse thinking
Into vein like chilled liquid heroin
Not even the slightest contemplations on if he is gay or not

I Am proud of Who I Am
I am proud of who I am
My skin is brown and I will grow up
To be the best I can
I have friends of all different colors and Races
It does not matter what color your face Is.
Instead what matters is the heart
and how you treat people from the start.
Don’t judge people by their looks
Remember no one should judge the cover of
the book.
Be the person you were born to be
This is the only way life will set you Free.
MY NAME IS DREMERIA AND
I AM PROUD OF WHO I AM!

If
If all the birds were in the same tree
If all the fish were in the same sea
If all the people were the same, you see
Nothing would be different from you or me.

Equality and Diversity
She stands along, by herself, every day at school
The teachers encourage her to talk to other students,
not knowing what the other students do to her. 26
She stands alone, not knowing what will happen.
This is what happens to many people.
A world with equality and diversity,
that would end many problems.
To me everyone is like puzzle piece mixed together
in a jigsaw puzzle. They all fit into on big piece.
Equality and diversity - -
Two words that people step on.

Diversity
Diversity is the way to be
and to grow up surrounded by.
I’ve always known this
and this is why
Martin Luther Kind and many other thought like me,
Through the rough times with equality.
Years ago, some people believed
that diverse people shouldn’t succeed.
We fought long and hard,
and soon enough they could see,
that this is was really meant to be.
The day at the Lincoln Memorial will always be remembered,
because that was the day we all got rendered.
When those famous 4 words were spoken,
‘I have a dream’ will be our token.

Being Different
I am different
from the others
because I come from
a different country
I feel happy
that I am different
because it makes me feel
kind of special
If they do not like me
for who I am
or say mean things to me
then I do not care
because words do not hurt
Also, because if
they do not want to be friends
with me
then I don’t care
because they’re the ones
that are missing all the fun
because I am fun
I am as fun as water country!
